Adware publishers have found their way to devices running Mac OS X. More specifically, Mac OS X, Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox browsers. In our research for adware and other Mac OS malware, we found lots of new adware applications for Mac OS in 2017, 2018, 2019, and recently 2020. JavaScriptCore was first included with Mac OS X v10.2 as a private framework which Apple used in their Sherlock application, while WebCore debuted with the first beta of Safari. Mac OS X v10.3 was the first major release of Apple's operating system to bundle WebKit, although it had already been bundled with a minor release of 10.2.
This article explains how to download and install Firefox on a Mac.

There is no Firefox support for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8. Firefox Editions Beta. Make sure your Mac meets the System Requirements for Firefox. If you use an old version of OS X, see these articles for more information:
- Visit the Firefox download page in any browser (for example, Safari). It will automatically detect the platform and language on your computer and recommend the best version of Firefox for you.

- Note: If you want to have a choice of the language for your Firefox installation, click the Download options and other languages link instead.
- Once the download has completed, the file (Firefox.dmg) may open by itself and pop open a Finder window containing the Firefox application. Drag the Firefox icon on top of the Applications folder in order to copy it there.
- Note: If you do not see this window, open the Firefox.dmg file that you downloaded.
- After dragging Firefox to the Applications folder, hold down the control key while clicking in the window and select Eject 'Firefox' from the menu.
Complete the steps above before running Firefox. Do not run Firefox directly from the Firefox.dmg file, as this can result in issues such as lost data and settings.
Tip: You can add Firefox to your dock for easy access. Just open your Applications folder and drag Firefox to the dock.
Firefox is now ready for use. Just click on its icon in the dock or Applications folder to start it.
When you first start up Firefox, you will be warned that you downloaded Firefox from the Internet. Because you download Firefox from the official site, click .
Upon installation, Firefox will not be your default browser, which you'll be notified about. That means that when you open a link in your mail application, an Internet shortcut, or HTML document, it will not open in Firefox. If you want Firefox to do those things, click . If you're just trying out Firefox or simply do not wish to set Firefox as your default browser, click .
Sometimes old cookies in your browser creates problems during login.
Here are instructions for deleting cookies in the following browsers; Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera.
Safari
To delete cookies in Safari you must do the following:
Firefox Or Safari For Mac
- Start the browser 'Safari'
- Click 'Safari' in the upper left corner
- Select 'Reset Safari'
- Make sure 'Remove all website data' is checked
- Click 'Reset'
- Restart browser and log in
Firefox
To delete cookies in Firefox do the following:
- Start the browser 'Firefox'
- Click 'History' on the top of the screen
- Click 'Clear Recent History'
- Make sure the 'Time range to clear' is set to 'All'
- Make sure 'Cookies' is checked
- Click 'Clear Now'
- Restart browser and log in
Chrome
To delete cookies in Chrome do the following:
- Start the browser 'Chrome'
- Click the 'Chrome' in the upper left corner
- Select 'Clear browsing data'
- Make sure the 'delete these items' is set to 'dawn'
- Ensure that 'cookies and other site and plug-in data' is checked
- Click 'Clear browsing data'
- Restart browser and log in
Opera
To delete cookies in Opera, you must do the following:
Chrome Safari Or Firefox For Mac Os X 10.10
- Start the browser 'Opera'
- Click the 'Opera' in the upper left corner
- Select 'Delete private data'
- Make sure 'Remove these entries from' is set to 'dawn'
- Make sure 'Clear cookies and other site data' is checked
- Click 'Delete browsing data'
- Restart browser and log in
